UWOPA Welcomes Brig-Gen Byekwaso Appointment- As The First Female Army Spokesperson

By Admin

Uganda Women Parliamentary Association ( UWOPA) has applauded the President for appointing one of its executive members Brigadier Flavia Byekwaso to a  key position as the first female officer as army spokesperson.

The program coordinator of the association Mary Harriet Lamunu says that the appointment of Byekwaso shows the level of trust the President has in women that they can deliver.

Lamunu however asks the president to appoint more women in bigger positions because they have proven to be good leaders.

“As Uganda Women Parliamentary Association, we celebrate the appointment of Brigadier General Flavia Byekuwaso as the first Female UPDF spokesperson, we celebrate her appointment because this shows, the level of trust the President has in women and women have proven to be good at any task assigned to them, so we appreciate her appointment we believe she will deliver Maria said “.

Brig-Gen Flavia Byekwaso is also (UPDF) representative in parliament who has been replaced brigadier Gen Richard Karemire.
