The minister for works and transport, Hon. Eng. Monica Azuba Ntege reveals governments’ plans to review the aviation legislative frame work as this will streamline and easy the licensing and certification processes of operators to reduce on the time required concluding the certification processes.

Speaking at the 6th graduation ceremony for Uganda aviation school in Kampala today, the minister assures the graduates of job availability following the rejuvenated efforts by govt to have a national carrier where they will be employed.

She further states that Africa and Uganda in particular will not develop if we continue importing skills and knowledge and urges ugandans to develop people focused programmes as a means of curbing un employment mainly among youth.

However, the proprietor of the school, Hon. Capt. Mike Mukula challenges graduates to exhibit high levels of discipline as they move out in the job market noting that the aviation industry is one of those sectors that requires perfection and for any player to prosper, they must be healthy.

He further says, with such trainings, Uganda will then be able to get to the level of Ethiopian airlines which invested USD.100M do start up its own aviation training school.

And Captain Francis Babu who is the chairman board of director at the school, assures grandaunts and parents of available and well paying jobs in the aviation industry which he says is short of man power.

The 6th graduation has seen 30 students pass out in the disciplines of, Airline cabin crew, Aviation security awareness, airline customer service. And among these, five were males.
