Local artist Moses Ssali AKA Bebe Cool is urging Ugandans to develop a heart of always helping fellow citizens living vulnerable lives as this is the only way Uganda will develop and have health citizens.
The revelation comes at a time as he was sending off five families to Narayana health hospital-India for heart surgery under the hospice of his new charity organization, Golden heart foundation in collaboration with Action for disadvantaged people (ACDIPE)
In his words, “Bebe tasks Ugandans to focus on giving back to the needy for these are the next generations that will drive Uganda forward.”
Hadijah Bossa, a mother to Bossa Rashid (2 years) discovered that her son had cardiology complication after two months of birth and was advised to seek treatment from Mulago heart institute where it was confirmed positive.
Hadijah narrates that it has not been easy to treat and feed her son as she had to spend over UGX.1,000 on Bossa on a daily basis and over UGX.100,000 a month yet she earns not more than UGX.10,000 a day.
Meanwhile, the executive director, ACDIPE, Ntyambi Goerge reveals that each child needs USD.5000 for treatment at subsidized price in India.
He adds that currently the country has 2000 heart patients who need emergency treatment and he calls on corporate companies and govt to fully support treatment of such vulnerable people.
The five families of 10 people, a patient and a care taker will be flying to Narayana health hospital in india on Saturday with treatment slated to start on Tuesday next week.
Bebe Cool support the families with UGX.60 million as part of the proceeds from his Golden heart concert held in Kampala which fetched over UGX.500 million.
