Blame yourself for absence of ministers Gen.Moses Ali tells off Parliament

The first deputy prime minister Gen Moses Ali has blasted Parliament for vetting incompetent ministers into office who shun parliamentary sittings and stall business in the house.
This was after MPs led by Ibanda North legislator Guma Gumisiriza raised a procedural matter on absence of ministers in sitting which was inconvincing MPs who were raising a number of matters of national importance that required response.
Lawmakers then put the deputy Premier on sword to explain why he can’t mobilise ministers to attend sittings as the Kalungu west MP Joseph Sewungu wondered why the highly facilitated officials with sirens on their lead cars can’t make it to Parliament in time.
In his response Gen. Ali confessed ignorance on whereabouts of ministers asked Parliament not to gril him alone but share the blame because they are part of the process of approving their appointments.
“Madam Speaker these ministers are not actually ours alone, they are ours together with you because when the President appoints them ,its you who vet them .So Parliament is equally responsible”
Absence of ministers in Parliament sittings remains a big challenge to the tenth parliament and sometimes the house has adjourned prematurely due to lack of quorum on the government’s front bench.
