The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) gets a new Secretary General.
Ms. Chilese Mpundu Kapwepwe from Zambia was elected during the just concluded COMESA Summit in Lusaka, Zambia. Ms. Chilese replaces Sindiso Ngwenya who has been at the helm of the Regional body for the last 10 years. Ms. Martha Elimu from Uganda was selected for the position of Director Human Resource and Administration.
COMESA is Uganda’s number one export destination which exports valued at $1.2bn
