Defence and Internal Affairs Committee of parliament plans to meet the new police leaders that were appointed by the president to discuss matters of insecurity in the country.
Addressing a press conference at parliament the deputy chairperson of the committee Hezekiah Mbogo said that the new police leaders need to look at the loopholes in police and address them.
Mbogo commends the former police Inspector General of Police, Kale Kaihura for the good work he did differing from a section of the public that faulted him of failure to address insecurity. He added that there were positive things he successfully did despite the many challenges.
This follows changes in the police force made by President Yoweri Museveni where Kayihura was dropped from the police command and replaced by his deputy, Martin Okoth Ochola and General Henry Tumukunde who was dropped as Security Minister and replaced by General Elly Tumwine
