Uganda’s presidential candidate and National Unity Platform leader Hon. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert has petitioned the international criminal court seeking the indictment of ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the gross crimes of humanity against Ugandans.
Through his local and foreign lawyers, kyagulanyi has filled crimes ranging to shooting and killing innocent ugandans on 18 and 19 November 2020 among other crimes before the global court with investigations into the matter yet to commence.
Kyagulanyi’s petition adds up on to other petitions in the international criminal court against president Museveni all condemning him for violating people’s rights.
He notes that president Museveni has swept away all the powers of local courts which makes it very hard for them to use local or regional courts to handle these issues.
He further gave the recent example where the judicial court in Masaka granted bail to his supporters and bodyguards and the military rearrested them diverting one of the prisons bus carrying some of Kyagulanyi ‘s support teams.
Its only seven days to the polls but ugandans are developing fear following massive security deployment in and around town and the country. Such situations make citizens wonder what will happen next during and after elections.
