Research findings released today from the mid-term review of the women’s manifesto 2016-2020 reveal failure by political parties to implement women issues.
The report highlights failures to addressing corruption, health issues, education, economic empowerment of women among others.
According to the executive director UWONET Rita Aciro and the Pery Arituwa the executive director women’s democracy network, demand that political parties always think through before pronouncing their position on their respective manifestos.
Further, on a scale of of 1-10, measure NRM to have scored 4/10 being that it controls the national budget and 3/10 for the opposition since they are providing alternative solution to government.
The one year research was carried out on political parties which had presidential contestants in the 2016 elections.
