The Vice President Jessica Alupo wants gaps that unscrupulous people are using to steal drugs addressed as she hails the National Medical Stores for strengthening the drug supply chain to improve health service delivery in Uganda.
While touring National Medical Stores Headquarters in Entebbe Alupo acknowledged the gaps being exploited to steal drugs from health facilities, saying these should be addressed with the latest innovations put in place by National Medical Stores.
She says that the Ugandan population needs medicines in government health units and sometimes they are disappointed when they hear stories of medicines getting stolen.
The General Manager at the National Medical Stores Moses Kamabare urges Ugandans to be vigilant and report theft of drugs as he also indicated that an electronic system to fight theft of drugs is being worked upon
Alupo was accompanied by the State Minister in the Vice President’s office also the Buikwe Woman MP, Diana Mutasingwa .
