Unemployment Still A Challenge -Minister Kasaija

The Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Matia Kasaija has described unemployment ,income inequality and malnutrition as challenge to development .
While delivering 2019/2020 40.5 trillion shillings budget at Kampala serena international conference, the minister outlined unemployment, income inequality and malnutrition coupled with unhealthy lifestyles as the major challenges the country is faced with ,but said government has plans to solve them.
He said despite economic growth evidenced by expansion of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) , unemployment is still a big problem.
Kasaija said Unemployment remains a development challenge, With 600,000 new entrants in the job market annually ,hence the need for more jobs.
He added that another challenge is malnutrition & unhealthy lifestyles with 53% of children under 5 years are malnourished.
He attributed , inappropriate feeding, among the major causes of non-communicable diseases , such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and obesity among others, which can be prevented.
