With the construction of the world class data protection center in high gear, Uganda will soon be having a state of the art data protection center by June this year. And this is to attract global data service providers like Amazon, Cloud among others.

The USD.27M project under construction at Namanve industrial park to be managed by Raxio data company is set to bring to Uganda global data management and IT companies like, facebook, Amazon, Cloud, Microsoft among others to Uganda.

Speaking to Kasirye Jeremiah, the site control manager Raxio data Center Company says, the center will also offer fast class data back-up to all kinds of businesses in the country.

The center will be with 400 racks capacity and will be the largest data center in the country.

Kasirye further mentions that upon opening, they will be having 170 clients on board and confirms that these have all paid up with them for data protection services.

Data management and protection among businesses in Uganda has for long been a problem and very expensive but with the coming of the new facility, there is hope that prices for data management and back-up will slow down.
