By Solomon Lubambula

In a bid to accelerate the East African Community intergration, MPs from the members states have finalised plans of helding the 15th edition of the East African Community Inter–parliamentary Games scheduled for December.

The joint planning committee sitting Kampala has assessed and approved sports facilities and hotels for over 1,000 participants in this tournament in Kampala.

Uganda will host the games from 5th December to 15th December , 2025, with participants from all the EAC member states.

The Tournament to be held under the theme “One Region, One Community, Advancing Intergration Through Parliaments and Sports”, will feature football, netball, basketball, volleyball, athletics, tug of war, golf, and darts for Persons With Disabilities.

The participation of member states aims to strengthen unity and cooperation among EAC members, promote healthy living, and boost the local economy through tourism and trade.

Asuman Basalirwa, the chairperson of the Uganda Parliamentary football team, said that this is an opportunity for Uganda to exhibit its hospitality to the visiting teams but also take advantage of hosting the games to defend her past championship titles.

Kenya’s MP Vincent Kawaga applauded Ugandan parliament for stepping in to host the games even at a short notice. He said is commendable for the spirit of strengthening unity and community Intergration agenda.

He was quick to add that Kenyan MPs are training hard and ready to take advantage of the busy electoral campaigns, to win the games.
