Today Marks the end day of the swearing in of MPs for the 11th parliament.
A total of 131 MPs are taking their oath administered by the office of the clerk so far sworn in 64 MPs bringing the number to 462.
Among the MPs who have been sworn in today include; the Out-going Deputy Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah, Outgoing Minister of Internal Affairs Jeje, Abubakar, outgoing State minister for Internal Affair, Kania Obiiga, State minister for sports Hamson Obua, minister of DisasterPreparedness Eng. Hillary Onek, state minister for ICT Peter Ogwang, Charles Okello Engola Outgoing State Minister for Defense.
MP for Ngariam County in Katakwi District Peter Ogwang says the 11th Parliament must work with the Executive to come up with a national budget that will address the most pressing issues for the people at the grassroots.
Pingire County in Serere District MP Fred Opolot who previously served as Executive Director at Uganda Media Centre promises to increase the household income which is the NRM Manifesto for the next five years.
The workers representative in parliament Margret Rwabusheija promises to resume on her private members Bill “The Establishment and Management of Markets Bill, 2019” and also fight for the rights of workers in the 11th Parliament.
