Member of Parliament for Koboko North Noah Musa wants President to outline clear strategies on how his government is planning to fight corruption in Uganda.
Hon Musa made the remarks during the debate on the motion to thank the President for delivering a clear and precise State of the Nation address in parliament on Thursday. The house was chaired by the Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Anita Among.
Hon Musa said that though the President’s speech was well articulate, he did not clearly indicate how corruption is going to be eliminated.
“On 4th June, we received the President’s state of nation address and he highlighted a lot of things and one of them was corruption; in his speech, he indicated that corruption is a major impediment to development for this country and he said he going to defeat corruption. However he didn’t come out clear, on how’’ Hon Musa explained.
He adds that though the President made a good analysis of corruption disclosing how corruption starts from the ministry of finance, he didn’t say anything how he going to deal with corruption.
He adds that he expected the President to carry out a serious shake-up in appointments especially the Ministry of Finance but to his dismay most the people have been maintained or have just been shifted to other ministries which will make it hard to win the war against corruption in the country.
