The ministry of health has launched a TB wellness clinic at the ministry to help its staff get tested for the disease.
This according to the ministry is being done because health workers area listed among high risk groups for TB infection.
Officiating at the launch the clinic which will run for a period of one week, the minister of health Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng noted that although efforts have been made to reduce the burden of TB in the country, its prevalence is still high.
Uganda is currently among the 30 TB high burden countries in the world.
Minister Aceng says the burden currently supersedes that of HIV among other diseases thus a lot needs to be done to combat it.
