The NRM electoral commission has today issued 10 guidelines that will be followed by party aspirants for the 2021 party primaries ahead of the general electoral process.
The party’s polls commission confirms that all aspirant must verify their academic papers with the relevant bodies, identify their electoral positions, desist from illegal campaigns until the commission spells out the designated period, desist from any electoral violence, seek guidance from the party polls commission among others.
The chairman NRM electoral commission and his deputy, Dr.Tang Odoi and Kijaji Alimpa Johnconfirms that no aspirant will be given the party’s flag if the above mentioned guidelines are not fulfilled.
They further confirm that they are now 70% into the desired preparations for the exercise that kicks off next year.
Since last December, the party electoral commission tabled before the central executive committee a draft road map and regulations for conducting all internal party elections as stipulated under Art.39(10) of the party constitution.
In the past general election over seen by Dr. Tanga, NRM aspirants presented with numerous challenges ranging from academic qualification among others which saw a number of them disqualified with others challenged in court.
