Speaker Oulanyah Warns Ministries & Agencies to Desist From Funding Parliamentraty Committee Activities.

The speaker of parliament Rt Jacob Oulanyah has directed all Ministries and all government agencies to immediately stop funding Parliamentary committee activities.
In his opening communication in today’s plenary sitting; Oulanyah disclosed that there are some ministries, government agencies, and departments that are financing the works of the committees of parliament which must stop.
He said that such acts will take away the Independency of parliament and it will lead to the officials from government institutions funding different committees to Undermine Parliament and its committees.
The speaker also directed the clerk to parliament to write to all Committee clerks and to the chairpersons and deputy chairperson of the Committee to take note of the directive of not allowing any special funding from any government agency.
