Speaker Among Rallies Namutumba For President Museveni

Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among on Saturday urged local leaders in Namutumba District to take charge of mobilization and ensure overwhelming support for President Yoweri Museveni in upcoming campaigns.

“This campaign is all on you,” she said. “You must move village to village and make sure Namutumba delivers. Let the campaign money benefit your people, not outsiders.”

Among told leaders that both success and failure in mobilization would be credited to them and encouraged unity among all residents regardless of past political differences.

Promises on Agriculture, Health, and Education

Among reaffirmed government’s commitment to improving agriculture and supporting modernization through mechanization and value addition.

“We don’t want to continue with subsistence agriculture. We shall bring machines to process groundnuts and ensure each county has a tractor,” she said.

She also promised better social services, including hospitals, secondary schools in every sub-county, and reliable medical supplies.

“We are going to ensure that medicine is available for everyone. We shall not allow women to continue producing in the bush — they must enjoy the benefits of this government.”

Among revealed that government had increased the PDM (Parish Development Model) funds by UGX 15 million to support local leaders in monitoring government programs. She clarified that these funds are for community benefit and not personal gain.

Among praised Namutumba’s progress under the NRM government, citing peace, good roads, and freedom of belief as key achievements.

“We are happy, we are happy — Namutumba will deliver 85% for President Museveni!” she declared to a cheering crowd before ending with music and dance.
