Rose Obiga, the incumbent Woman Member of Parliament for Terego District, has officially been nominated by the National Resistance Movement (NRM) to contest in the upcoming party primaries. Speaking passionately during her address following the nomination, Obiga expressed deep gratitude and reaffirmed her commitment to the people of Terego.
“I am honored and humbled to once again be nominated by the NRM to represent the people of Terego,” she said. “I remain your loving People’s Choice, and I will continue from where I stopped.”
Obiga went on to outline a bold and generous development plan aimed at uplifting communities across the district. She pledged:
At least 100 bags of cement and 100 iron sheets for churches and mosques.
More than 80 million shillings available for Terego residents to access.
Distributions of cocoa seedlings and fast bread stock to support livelihoods.
Provision of hybrid birds, with no less than 600,000 chickens promised to women groups.
Each of Terego’s 477 villages to receive 100 pieces of iron sheets.
Continued support for households with essentials including cups, plates, large saucepans, and buckets—resources she says every village already possesses.
“What I have done is still a drop in the ocean,” Obiga stated . “I love you, my people. I am coming in a single file with nothing but deep love.”
The NRM primaries are scheduled for next month ahead of the 2026 general elections.
