Ugandan business community has been urged to attend the one day business summit organized by the government of Uganda and Qatar development bank which starts tomorrow.
Addressing a media conference ahead of the conference today in Kampala, the executive director PSFU, Gideon Badagawa welcomes the move but sights the challenge lying ahead for Ugandans and asks them to quickly adjust to what the people from Qatar need if Uganda is to benefit from the new business partnership.
The executive director Qatar development bank, Mr. Hamad Mejegheer calls for full trust from Ugandan business community if they are to have a smooth partnership for both countries to prosper.
Uganda exports goods and services worth USD.2.79M to Qatar compared to USD.16.6M imports from Qatar.
Among the businesses Qatar wants to Uganda include, construction, pharmaceutical, electrical products, food products, industrial products, logistics among others.
The summit is part of the presidential initiative to create business opportunities for Qatar here in Uganda as well as Ugandans getting opportunities in Qatar.
