Parliament Gives 34M To Late Abirigas Family
By our reporter
Parliamentarians and Ministers have contributed 34 million shillings to the family of the deceased Member of Parliament for Arua Municipality the late Col. Ibrahim Abiriga.
The money is part of condolences collected from different caucuses in Parliament and government ministers who generously contributed towards the welfare of the Late Abiriga’s family.
The Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Rebbeca Kadaga today handed over the condolences to family members through the first Deputy Prime Minister Gen. Moses Ali in the speakers office in Kampala.
Gen. Moses Ali however refused to hand over the monies to family on conditions that they must first open a joint bank account through which the funds will be Channeled . Gen. Ali said that his decision is meant to ensure that the funds are put to good use, and to make sure that the right beneficiaries get use of it.
Col. Abiriga was assassinated by yet to be known killers way back in June 2018 near his home in Kawanda on the outskirts of Kampala City.
