Government has rised its voice and told Medical Internes to avoid engaging themselves in the strike.
Addressing the media at the Ministry of Health today, the State Minister for Health Incharge of General Duties Sarah Opendi says that they agreed to draft a policy regulating the operation of the medical interns which is opted to be redebated on in the middle of this month by all the stakeholders include the interns association.
She further admits that there were delays in payments that was caused by health centers where these interns are attached too, delayed to send lists of names for these people to be paid for their quarter year.
Opendi emphasizes that this is now solved after yesterday the Ministry sent all the arrears to respective Health centers expecting either by the end of this week or early next week to have medical interns paid.
Early this morning, Medical interns under their association led by their President Dr. Robert Lubega declared a strike before the media over delayed payments, lack of medical supplies and poor welfare among others.
