Kyambogo Student Lost Tuition in Betting, MP Afoyochan Bails Him With 1M to Clear School Fees.
The Zombo district woman MP Esther Afoyochan who doubles as a parliamentary backbench commissioner has bailed out a Kyambogo University student Julius Osuta who went missing after losing tuition of Shn600,000 in sports betting.
Afoyochan handed over one million shillings to Osuta and condemned the vice of misusing school fees in gambling among students.
Julius Osuta a Kyambogo University student from West Nile, went missing on April 7th due to stress after losing his tuition amounting to shs 600,000 in sports betting made rounds on social media recently. He was last week discovered at Arua Park in Kampala and handed to police. Today we encountered Osuta and he narrated the ordeal.
Upon getting Osuta’s story, the Zombo district woman member of parliament Esther Afoyochan reached out to the prodigal son and gave him a second chance in school with a bailout of one million shillings to clear his tuition arrears and be able to sit the soon coming exams.
Afoyochan condemned the practice of students who misuse school fees for gambling and called students to learn a lesson from Osuta’s mistakes. She pledged to counsel the young man to get his gambling addiction to him.
