In the Greater Masaka Mega Baraza held 15th March 2024 at Liberation Square, Gen Muhoozi KAINERUGABA, Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda and Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations hit hard on the corrupt who curtail development through misuse and stealing of public funds. He castigated them for failing government programs aimed at improving the welfare of its citizens.

“The government of Uganda, under the leadership of HE President Museveni, has initiated many programs for the people, like Emooyga, PDM, etc meant for the ordinary people to support them in wealth creation and social economic development, but often the people who are deployed to work in public offices, steal the funds, this must stop henceforth. Public servants should know that they hold those offices in public trust and at all times be accountable to the citizens who are their bosses in this case, whether elected or appointed, you must desist corruption, and let’s rally our people this time round, not to elect corrupt people, who in most instances arm-twist the technical people to involve in corrupt tendencies. These people have often frustrated President Museveni” he stressed.

The highly attended Baraza was graced by dignitaries who included Ministers Hon Vincent Bamulagaki Ssempijja, Hon Frank Tumwebaze, for Agriculture, Hon Anita Kawooya, State for Health-General Duties and Hon Aisha Sekindi State for Water, Hon Haruna Kasolo-Micro finance. Hon Atima Jackson Lee Buti, PLU coordinator Greater Arua, Hon Kabanda David, Hon Fadil Twalia, PLU coordinator Sebbi region, Hon Chemaswet Kisos, MP Soi County, Hon Namujju Cissy, Hon Dr Twaha Kagabo, Hon Mawanda Micheal, Hon Ssemwanga Gyavira, Hon Bazil Bataringaya, Hon Nathan Byanyima, Hon Aber Lillian-Vice Chair Northern Uganda, Hon Begumisa Mary, Hon Ruhinda Alex, Hon Ssejoba Isaac, Hon Ssubi Kinyamatama, Hon Kasirabo Boaz, Hon Kangwagye Stephen, Hon Musherure Shartsi Kutesa, Hon Muheesi Abaho Jenifer, Mr Frank Gasumba, Mr Balamu among the many.

” Patriotic League of Uganda is a nonpartisan civic organization, we don’t discriminate against people based on religion, tribe, or race, we welcome everyone regardless of political affiliation, who believes in Uganda, can sacrifice for it, and is ready to defend its sovereignty. We stand to fight any external aggression agendas, sometimes promoted by our people. We will not tolerate any corruption tendencies in any form. When people mismanage government resources it affects the service delivery programs like water, health, education, etc which are vital for the transformation of our communities” noted Gen Muhoozi

Relatedly the youth and women from Greater Masaka rallied Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba if deems it fit to lead Uganda as the next President, they appreciated President Museveni for the peace, development, security, and transformation agenda which started in 1986, and when the time came they are ready to support him.

Gen Muhoozi informed the people of Greater Masaka that the government of Uganda has provided 6 billion shillings to Masaka City for upgrading Masaka Recreation Grounds, into a modern sports complex to accommodate football, netball, basketball, athletics, etc as a way of supporting talent identification and development, since sports produces good leaders, social cohesion and disciplined people. He also urged the city authorities to do the work to the expectations of the people and the government, but importantly avoid corruption throughout the process.

MPs from across the country called on Gen Muhoozi to get ready to continue serving Ugandans, as the leader of the new Uganda, which will embrace and appreciate the gains made, protect them, and ensure continuity through providing peace and security.

A well-known Patriotic League of Uganda campaigner Prince Okwaimungu from Zombo in Greater Nebbi, West Nile whispered to Gen Muhoozi to find time and visit Greater Nebbi.
