The deputy speaker of Parlialment ,Jacob Oulanyah has said that the international community should not expect Uganda to contribute financially, for refuges because it is already playing part by hosting them.
He made remarks at the launch of the Parliamentary Forum on Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons in Uganda (PFR-IDPs).
He stressed that the burden of financing refugees should not be put on Uganda, it is the mandate of the United Nations High Commissioner and the international community.
He added that the burden of hosting refugees is being felt by Ugandans and the government due to limited resources.
He noted that the Forum will combine efforts and work together with all stakeholders to ensure that refugee laws, policy and programs are put in place.
