Am in Better Health – Speaker Kadaga
By Adiga Julius
The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has hailed Ugandans and entire world for the prayers and emotional support they have extended to her ever since she fell ill upon her return from intentional engagements due to fatigue related illness last month.
In a latest communication that has been sent on social media through her personal communication assistant which has voice notes attached, Kadaga relayed her appreciation to Ugandans for the love and support during the time she has spent in hospital.
In particular, the speaker thanked President Museveni and the first Lady Hon Janet Kataha Museveni, the Kyabazinga of Busoga His Highness Nadiope Gabula and the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Mwenda Mutebi for their support visiting her in hospital both in Nakasero and Aga Kahan Hospitals.
She said that due to the efforts of Doctors both in Uganda and Kenya, her health has now improved and she will soon be discharged and be back in the country.
Kadaga however dismissed media reports that she had been transferred from Aga Khan Hospital to Spain, claiming that her condition had worsened.
She therefore urged the media to always report facts especially on matters of public concern. “Contrary to rumors in the press and social media, i am not in Spain. I am in good condition; actually as I speak, i am sitting up on my desk and I would like to urge that reporting facts on matters of public concern is an etiquette the media should uphold.
She said the media should always seek information from what she called ‘official channels’ and desist from reporting what is baseless and unfounded.
“I look forward to better health and to serving Uganda once again” Kadaga noted.
