2ND GLOBAL DOCTORS CONFERENCE OPENS IN UGANDA 7TH/09/17.
The global doctor’s conference has officially been opened by the health minister of Uganda Dr. Ruth Aceng where she expressed concern about health conditions still affecting the country’s population.
Addressing doctors attending conference in Kampala the health minister highlighted need to impart more knowledge on non-communicable diseases to Ugandans which is wanting , explaining that the reason as to why Ugandans suffering more from non-communicable diseases like Cancer, Diabetes, Hypertension among others is because they don’t have knowledge about these diseases on how to prevent them.
The minister says that only 3% Ugandans know about these diseases which have contributed to the current 75% national diseases burden that are preventable as per the health demographic survey.
Aceng says that its time Uganda puts more emphasis on managing such preventable non communicable diseases, if deaths are to be brought down through public health education.
The conference that brought doctors from across the globe is amid at discussing global health challenges as well as sharing basics knowledge on to handle them
