Lucy Hobbs(grand daughter of Dr. Denis Burkitt ) and family today visited the Uganda Cancer Institute To acquaint themselves with the place where their grand father made groundbreaking discoveries.
They were able to visit the peaditric services at UCI.
During this visit, the Executive Director UCI mentioned to them the intention of transforming the service to Dr. Burkitt children services. He also added that the artifacts of Dr. Denis Burkitt would be placed in the cancer Institute Mesuem.
It is important to remember that Denis discovered a children’s Cancer which was named after him, that is Burkitt lymphoma.
