Embrace Peace At All Costs-Dr.Kazimba Mugalu

By Solomon Lubambula

‎‎Ahead of the 2026 general elections, the Church of Uganda has urged leaders to prioritize peace.

‎Speaking at the 2025 Christmas carols and Thanksgiving service organized by the Parliamentary Anglican Chaplaincy, Archbishop Stephen Kazimba Mugalu emphasized the need for politicians and citizens to maintain peace with God, themselves, and others.

‎‎Quoting Ephesians 4:26, he condemned hatred based on political, tribal, or religious differences and encouraged promoting love and peace, especially during the festive season.

‎‎Archbishop Kazimba also addressed young people, warning against being manipulated to spread conflict or violence. His message comes amid reports of political campaign-related violence, with citizens attacked in various regions.

‎The archbishop led prayers for peace to prevail nationwide as Uganda prepares for the upcoming elections, urging all citizens to embrace unity, reject divisive behavior, and foster a culture of reconciliation and harmony.

‎‎“Can’t we acknowledge the good thing in this person, even though this person does not belong to your party?  Can you find something good? We should really, this time of Christmas, promote love over hatred. Promote oneness over division. Let us promote working together instead of fighting each other, instead of killing one another. There is no need for that. We are God’s people, we are Ugandans. Each person is very important. And let us avoid anything to do with war”-Dr.Kazimba Mugalu noted.
