Obongi County, Member of Parliament, Dr. George Didi Bhoka, recently conducted village social mobilization and accountability meetings in Kochi Boma, Belle, Kochi Central, and Gborokonyo Villages in Waka parish of Itula sub-county. During these meetings, he provided updates on the progress of NRM and his office’s manifestos over the past three years, as well as the status of disbursement and use of wealth creation programs such as YLP, UWEP, EMYOOGA, and PDM programs in the villages. The meetings also addressed key challenges and recommendations to improve the performance of the wealth creation projects.
Several issues were highlighted that require attention from the district and central government, including the swift resolution of border conflicts with Yumbe district, completion of the Kochi Boma Bridge, the suspended piped water project in Kochi Central, delays in PDM fund disbursements, and limited awareness of many government programs, among other concerns.
Stakeholders also attended the meetings, including elected, appointed, civil civic, business, community leaders, and elders. The message emphasized the potential for transforming households and families through collective efforts in community mobilization, organization, and empowerment.
