The Leader of Opposition Mathias Mpuuga has called for counseling of National Unity Platform MPs who have been recently seen associating with the MK movement under Muhoozi Kainerugaba the senior presidential advisor on special operations who announced his aspirations to run for the presidency in 2026.
The MPs in question are Bukoto North MP Twaha Kagabo, and the recent one of Njeru municipality Jimmy Lwanga all belonging to NUP.
Addressing journalists at parliament, the leader of the opposition Mathias Mpuuga described the two NUP legislators as confused and dishonest MPs who are self-seekers and political opportunists who shouldn’t be taken seriously.
He went on to challenge the same controversial lawmakers to dare address their electorates on the political decision they took by associating with the MK movement as opposed to the NUP ideologies.
Meanwhile, LOP has also announced the re-mapping of his oversight tours in different parts of the country following the outcry of many Ugandans.
Mpuuga revealed that the re-mapping of the oversight visits will also consider the rescheduling of the already visited areas and soon they will resume with greater Masaka, back to Bunyoro, West Nile, Teso, Busoga, Kigezi, Ankole, and other regions.
The LOP has also further reminded the government to address the increasing insecurity in the country, especially in greater Masaka which has become a life-threatening habit in the country.
