The ministry of Kampala metropolitan affairs has issued guidelines for the reopening of public transport due to start on 4th June 2020.
Addressing journalists at the media center, minister for Kampala affairs Betty Amongi says starting tomorrow all taxi owners and operators within Kampala metropolitan area must report to KCCA where they should be assigned parks, stages, and routes to guide their operation.
They are also supposed to report to the ministry of transport to obtain a temporary route chart that is valid until the 31st December 2020.
According to Amongi all public transport owners should provide personal protective equipment to their workers and ensure there is reduced contact between them and passengers.
She notes that all taxi and buses must carry half of their capacity as earlier directed by President Museveni.
