Some of the rulling national resistance movement party MPs in Uganda have come out to attack their colleagues in the party to have used their signatures for attending Tuesday’s meeting at parliament to push their own agenda to move a motion to scrap age limit in the constitution of Uganda.
One of them MPs for kitagwenda county , Abas Agaba says his signature was not meant for supporting the motion to remove age limit in the constitution as its been paraded by fellowships MPs in the party but for only attending the NRM caucus meeting , adding that they will need to consult their voters on the matter before they decide on the matter.
He said when he was called to attend the meeting of NRM party he wasent aware that the agenda was to hood wink into signing for a resolution for the members to come up with private members bill to omit age limit in the constitution.
He said the that some of them were not ware of the agenda to be discussed in the meeting conviened by NRM commissioners at parliament ,that includeded Arnatwe Rwakajara, Peter Ogwang and Robinah Nabanja.
On Tuesday about 245 members of national resistance movement NRM mps passed a resolution to move a motion in parliament next Thursday supporting the removal of the age limit of the president in article 102 of the constitution.
